Why we publish our prices

Most Brisbane locksmith
websites don't list prices.

The reason is straightforward: locksmith pricing is one of the easiest places to bait and switch a customer, and rogue operators rely on it. A $19 callout fee in a sponsored ad. Hundreds of dollars on the invoice once the lock is drilled.

We publish the numbers because doing so is the only way to make the difference visible. Every price below is a minimum starting price. You get an estimate on the phone, and the final price is confirmed with you on site before any work begins.

What can affect the final price

These are the only genuine factors. They are explained and agreed on site before any additional work proceeds.

Extra parts or a second lock

Some jobs need additional hardware or a second cylinder. Any extra parts are explained and agreed on site before the work goes ahead.

Lock type or hardware

High security, restricted, or non-standard hardware may affect price. Always explained and agreed before proceeding.

Door or frame damage

After break-ins the frame sometimes needs additional repair work beyond the lock itself. Quoted separately and confirmed before starting.

Number of cylinders

Rekey and cylinder pricing scales per cylinder. Total confirmed on the call once you give us the count — no surprises on the invoice.

What does not change the price

Traffic, distance within our service area, parking, or how busy we are, and the day or hour you call. None of these change the price. The estimate you get on the phone is confirmed on site before any work begins.

Protect yourself

How to spot dodgy locksmith pricing

01
Suspiciously low callout fee

A $15 or $19 callout in a sponsored ad is bait. The real bill arrives after the lock is drilled and is typically three to five times the advertised amount.

02
Refusing to quote on the phone

Any legitimate locksmith can give a price range for a standard job over the phone. Refusing to do so is a strong indicator the final number will be whatever they think they can charge.

03
Cash only or upfront payment

Reputable Brisbane locksmiths take card on completion. Requiring cash upfront or advance payment before work starts is rarely a good sign.

Frequently asked questions

Pricing questions answered

It depends on the job. The callout fee is a flat $30 any hour of the day, and common jobs start at $15 per cylinder to rekey, $120 for a lock replacement, $150 for a new lock installation, and $180 for a smart lock. You get an estimate on the phone, and the final price is confirmed with you on site before any work begins.
Yes. The callout fee covers travel, dispatch, and the technician's time on site. It is the same regardless of suburb within our service area. The fee is not paid in advance — it is part of the total invoiced once the job is complete.
No, unless something on site is materially different to what was described on the phone. If the lock type differs, the frame is damaged, or extra work is needed, we explain the change and the new total before doing anything further. The original estimate stands until you agree to any change.
No. The $30 callout fee is the same any hour of the day, weekends and public holidays included. We do not add an after-hours or weekend surcharge.
Card and contactless payments are accepted on every job, taken on site after the work is completed. A small card surcharge applies. Bank transfer is available for account customers. We do not require cash, and we never require payment before a job is done.
Yes. All prices on this page include GST. We are GST registered and the receipt issued on completion shows the GST component separately.
